Ms. Linda Kornhi, Quail Run
I have been involved in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed since 1989, when my first Cavalier, a rescue boy named Teddy, joined my family. We have been enamored with the breed ever since.
After spending the next several years studying the breed, I obtained my first show prospect, and entered the world of conformation showing shortly thereafter. I take great pleasure in showing my own dogs, and enjoy the close bond that develops between dog and handler when they work well together. I have titled too many dogs to track in the AKC, the CKC, as well as titling dogs in the CKCSC, USA. I have also had the distinct pleasure of showing numerous times at Crufts and the UK Cavalier Club show, as well as judging all over the USA, in the UK, and New Zealand. This hobby we all love is, in my opinion, about our journey with our dogs, not the destination.
The AKC granted me regular judging status in Cavaliers in 2013, and I have been very much enjoying traveling to different parts of the country, honored with judging dogs that I may never have seen before. I continue to be an active owner/breeder/handler, with no plans to retire from those activities, which bring me great joy, anytime in the near future.
I joined the Eugene Kennel Club in 1995, and since 1997 have held an office continually. I have served as the EKC Show Chair three times, and Chaired numerous committees. In 2017, I joined the Chintimini Kennel Club as well, currently serving as their Judges Selection Committee chair.
I co-founded the Oregon Trail Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club in 2002, one of the first AKC sanctioned Cavalier Clubs on the West Coast. I was fortunate enough to have Chaired three of our Annual Specialties.
I joined the Columbia River Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club recently, and enjoy activities with that Club as well.
Thank you for the kind invitation to judge for Cavaliers of the Midwest. I am very much looking forward to my assignment, and meeting some lovely Cavaliers and their people. Best of luck to all!
